William J. Swanton

First Generation

1.    William J. Swanton of New Bedford, MA was born in 1865 in Ballydehob, County Cork, Ireland. He died in 1932 at the age of 67. He married Molly Linburg. He left Boston at the age of 12. He started in cattle and horses, and had a livery stable with race horses and rentals. He had a garage business and then a car dealership. He owned considerable property.

2.    Walter Swanton married and went to California in 1941.
