Ellen Ahern Swanton

Born July 1862 in the parish of Kilbeheny, Limerick County
Died 1930, Boston, Massachusetts

Ellen Ahern was the daughter of William Ahern and Alice Corbett Ahern of Kilbeheny, County Limerick, Ireland (near Mitchelstown, County Cork).  Her parents were both tailors. Thanks to a fellow researcher, Gilbert Gillen (a descendant of Ellen's sister, Johanna), I have pictures of both William and Alice Ahern. I also have pictures of Ellen and some of her children and grandchildren:

Ellen Ahern married James Swanton on August 18, 1885, just five years after he emigrated to America. As of 1920, she hadn't remarried, and her mother-in-law, Alice Corbett Ahern,  lived with her.
